Our Proud History Will Lead Us Into the Future

Our lineage in aircraft maintenance spans decades, beginning in World War 2 as a B-29 Modification Center where we modified over 5,000 aircraft. In the following years we continued to provide our military with the quality maintenance of over 3,000 KC-135 Stratotankers and over 2,000 C-130 Hercules aircraft.

Kaiser Aircraft provides heavy maintenance for Transport Category Aircraft.

Our team is currently engaged in providing support to customers in commercial maintenance and aircraft end-of-life services utilizing our experience in dismantling and subsequent parts logistics. We are Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) certified.

Professional Capabilities in the Aircraft Industry

Kaiser Aircraft Industries, Inc., provides opportunities to our customers seldom found elsewhere. Located on close to two hundred acres, our facility includes:

Aircraft Hangars

10 aircraft bays encompass 1,290,500 square feet of protected maintenance space with one hangar dedicated to wash/strip, which includes its own wastewater treatment plant. Within the hangar are three service bays with close to 130,500 square feet of back-shop space and adjacent office space totaling close to 40,000 square feet.

Security

Our premises are secured on a 24-hour basis utilizing our own personnel and in conjunction with the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport under the auspices of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Homeland Security.

Aircraft Paint Facility

Our paint hangar spans 37,352 square feet and is temperature and humidity-controlled.

Flight Line

18 acres of flight line are available with double-sided jet blast fencing.

Aircraft Storage

60+ acres of paved apron available for aircraft storage.

Ease of Access

Direct and secure access to airport taxiways (ICAO KBHM).

Fuel Storage

Two 100,000-gallon fuel storage tanks are available for the storage and handling of aviation fuels.

Warehousing

Our main warehouse encompasses 145,000 square feet and includes dedicated docks with secure shipping and receiving areas. Secondary storage areas total close to 167,000 square feet.

Why Birmingham?

Logistically, Birmingham is served by an extensive transportation system including railway, highway, and air services. Four interstate highways provide ease of trucking access, including I-65 North/South. I-20 and I-59 Northeast/Southwest and the I-459 loop to the southeast. Our facility is within a short drive to New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Huntsville, Atlanta and Mobile.
