Centrally Located in the Southeast

Birmingham, AL is within easy reach of the ports in Mobile, Alabama, one of the largest deep water access ports on the Gulf Coast. Birmingham has water access to Mobile through the Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway which links commercial navigation from the nation’s midsection to the Gulf of Mexico.

Currently, eight airlines operate out of the Birmingham/Shuttlesworth International Airport (ICAO: KBHM). The airport provides a main runway of over 12,000 ft and a secondary runway of 7,100 ft. The air cargo facility has recently increased capacity by 400,000 square feet and is serviced daily by UPS and FEDEX. Birmingham bypasses the congestion and delays of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport yet is placed along major air corridors in the Southeast.
